Program & Approach

Preschool Learning Pods will provide a consistent, in-person education for children ages 3 - 4 years old.

We are proud to offer quality care and education at a family’s home for a Learning Pod of up to 6 students and 1 educator. Together we question, investigate, negotiate, and learn. We see ourselves as teachers, caregivers and, above all, partners dedicated to working with families and helping children realize their fullest potential.

Our Learning Pods are designed with children in mind, providing ample opportunities for play and exploration. Our Pod teachers foster a feeling of belonging and cultivate a sense of community built on trust and respect to provide an atmosphere to support our students' ongoing growth and development.

Safety & Health Considerations

Pod families will assess their COVID risk profiles and create a social pact to maintain transparency among the group on an ongoing basis. Pod teachers will also sign this pact.

It’s important to us that you have a smooth journey to your pod’s first day of learning and beyond. We’re able to support in many ways.

Support before the Pod:

  • Creating pod family agreements to ensure that everyone is aligned on Covid health protocols and curriculum choices.

  • Introducing pod families and teachers.

  • Supporting you through the enrollment process and at key moments throughout the school year.

  • Sharing recommendations for pod space set-up, essential materials and protocols.

  • Providing starter packs of pod resources and ongoing project materials.

Support while you’re in the Pod:

  • Curriculum and guidance to Pod teachers through a dedicated team.

  • Regular formative assessments of core academic skills.

  • Management of teachers.

  • Organizational processes and administrative tools for Pod management; e.g., parent communications, curricular programs, etc.

  • Teacher oversight, support, and mentoring with site visits, weekly teacher meetings for planning and professional development, and teacher mentors.

  • Parent education: Zoom lectures around education, child development, the science of learning, social emotional learning, etc.

Support for your Teacher:

  • Pod Teaching Approaches and Management - Your teacher will meet weekly to engage in discussion around pod teaching approaches and management. Members are encouraged to discuss areas where they would benefit from more support and the team works together to collaboratively problem solve and share.

  • Curriculum and Assessment - Based on your pod’s choice, Learning Pods will work with your teacher to deliver either your district’s curriculum or our own Learning Pod curriculum (Math, English Language Arts, Science, Humanities, and Project-based Learning).

  • Teacher Network with other Pod Teachers - Your teacher will be part of an active online community of other Learning Pod teachers where they can share ideas and learn best practices from others in the network to bring back to your pod.

  • Teacher Growth and Development - Your teacher will engage in professional development sessions led by the Learning Pod team or outside speakers. These will be scheduled at least once per month.
